How long does Salmanella poisoning stay in our bodies?

Hi there Rose, the way I try to keep Salmonella organisms out of my food is to cook my food until it is done, and keep surfaces clean that have meats touching them. Say if i have chicken to chop up I don't use a wooden surface to cut it up on, I use a Plexiglas cutting surface. I cook hamburgers until they are completely done. I clean all my surfaces with antibacterial.. now i am using Green Clean by Clorox. To me sanitation is half the answer, and cooking foods properly is the other half of the answer.

I am not the type who cooks food but I make sure that before I take anything or prepare my own, it must be cooked well. I ate in restaurants at times and I may not be sure if its free from those unhealthy organisms so I rather visit these restaurants or fast food chains only when I have no time to prepare for my own or too busy at work. It pays to take precautions all the time.
