Bionics...

Well thank you so much HairDresser. I have to admit, that question came to me when I was watching the Bionic woman remake. I can definitely see some benefits to having something like this happen, but then again, the show highlights the negatives as well. As much as I would like to think that the negatives are a little far fetched, you really have to walk a fine line between being cautious and being naive.

I was definitely hoping you were kidding! Although you can't be too sure nowadays. Some people tend to take things very literal. Life has to be more interesting without limitations. Bionics means even LESS limitations, but then I'm a big fan of technology too. Thank you for your response minnie.

Hmm, that's a side of it that I've never really thought of before. I would have to believe that the doctors' would only make that decision only IF they believed beyond all science that there is absolutely no hope of survival for the organ donor. But again, this also a choice in which you have to walk a fine line between being cautious and being naive. Thank you for your response and for sharing that story.

It's just plain creepy to me. It's the reason I don't think I could ever be an organ donor. Before the guy was even dead they had to take his kidney and give it to my brother. Not that my brother isn't deserving of living, it's just that, what if the man in the accident was my brother instead. Just hard to think about. It really is.

I do know that when it comes to organ donation, the host body does have to still be somewhat alive. If the body were to die, the loss of blood, oxygen and other nutrients to the kidney would create stress on that organ. Kidneys can be donated from living people as you can live with only one kidney. There are quite a few people that donate one of their kidneys to help out other people.
