My kids never had money in their pockets long enough to save. I always tried to get them to save for something thet really wanted but they would always find a way to spend it.

hi nilo!
yeah, i would encourage people to save money in piggy banks because i do so too, hehe
i have saved a considerable amount of money because of this way. i am now saving up for a laptop and so the money i save in the piggy bank will go there. i think it is awesome that we do not just notice the money piling up in the piggy bank. hehe
take care and good day!

I have not only given a piggy bank to my son, but also one to my two nieces. They like the piggy banks very much, with which they love to save their coins and banknotes in them. I think that it is a good idea to teach our kids how to save money ever since they are young. Thanks for your discussion.

My father buy one for each a year ago. They know they have to save money to buy toys. But how they can put money on their piggy bank when I don't encourage them to have money to keep. I don't give them money when they go to school. I just want them to bring for their lunch. They put some in their piggy bank when their grandpa gave them money. Last Christmas their God parent give them money and that's the time they put again money in their piggy bank

Yes I do encourage my son to save on a piggy bank since he was little and not only him but as a parent, I do set an example of keeping one myself. I tell him the value and reason for it so that he knows whats it for and why. Now that he has grown to be a teenager and at most times spends too much, he knows he needs to budget his allowance and save for his other expenses.
At one time he needs a lot of money and he did save a lot coz we had a deal of whatever he saves I will give him as much. He now saves much on his allowance and is even taking summer job since last year for things he wants to buy. Its a very good lesson to teach our children which their school will not teach much and only parents can. Lead by example is my belief.

I don't have any kids yet, but when I do, I definitely will. I did it as a kid, and I think it really taught me a lot about finance and money, so I want to teach my kids the same things. It is a very simple way to learn, but very effective!

My parents always encouraged us to save money in our piggy bank. My husband and I don't plan on haing kids, but we will encourage anyone we can to save money in piggy banks. My huband is saing his change in a mug on the coffee table.
