are huskies destructive dogs?????  | |  I have 2 huskies male and female although they look so gorgeous they are very distructive exspecially the male!!!! he eats anything chews everything my dvd player phone chargers my me to you bears,ripped up my kitchen floor not just once twice!!! and OMG the garden is a mess the amount of holes in it i think he is digging himself an early grave!!!!! the is not as bad but enjoys the digging in the garden and she defently is the alpha dog! are they as much hassel as its worth!! i love them but all i do is run after then!!!
SO WHO THINKS HUSKIES R DISTRUCTIVE????

My BF got one from the vets (he was about 3 months old, had been run over and was going to be put down but we saved him, he had a metal plate in his leg and was almost as good as new). Flipper is a husky cross with german shepherd, the most gorgeous looking creature you ever saw (well I'm a bit biased here!) and everyone wanted to have him.
He chewed everything in site - plugs, chairs, cushions, diving compass, cables, shoes - absolutely anything he could get his teeth on. It was just a phase but by golly did he do some serious damage - even took the wood off the doors. I don't think you can help them too much until after they have passed this phase. After that he was the most docile wonderful dog you could ever have. And yes he dug up the garden too! At one point my BF was thinking of getting rid of him as he was so unruly and I was still living in the UK and so couldn't help him much. However, they got through the tough times.
We got a second one from a shelter and she was a handful too, although 18 months old she wasn't house trained (they forgot to mention that small detail when we went to pick her up!). So there was another 6 months of training and frustration to go through but it was all worth it in the end.
I would buy/ take another one any day but living in the Dom Rep with no garden, I don't think it would be fair. If we moved away to a slightly cooler climate and had a large garden then I would snap one up.
They are supposed to be the dogs that are closest to their ancestors, the wolves. And I believe it....
