Hello my fellow myLotters! Do you hate those telemarketers who call you at all hours of the day? I do, too. I am on the "Do Not Call" list but still businesses I do business with are allowed to call me about "special offers" and boy do they ever do! I was doing some searching (not related to telemarketers) and someone had posted about a wonderful program..
It is called "PhoneTray". They have two programs one called PhoneTray Dial Up and PhoneTray Free. Basically if you still have a dial up modem you can use PhoneTray Free. You can "program" it to block certain numbers with "Sorry the number you dialed has been disconnected. Please check the number and dial again". Hahahaha, I have done that to several of those telemarketers, don't we hate them all?
.
Sorry if you ARE a telemarketer. I know you are trying to do your job, for the rest of us check out http://www.phonetray.com
Also what are ways that you stop these stupid telemarketers from calling you?;). Thanks
Pablo

Yes, I don't like the pushy ones. I was on the phone with one of them before saying "no I don't want their product" for 18 minutes. I finally had to lie to the woman and tell her I would call back to buy the product which I never did ;). Luckily I found that wonderful program which tells them that my number has been disconnected, hahaha

We never answer our landline and we always discourage our friends to use it unless we get a signal that they are calling in our landline. Those people consume or time and they say the same thing over and over.
Oh, by the way, I was gonna be a telemarketer back in Thailand but the police, FBI and Australian police came to town raiding the telemarketing offices and Whew! I'm glad I haven't started it yet. I could be one of those you hate.

Yes, I hate it too. Perhaps you should try phonetray to block those telemarketers?

One of the best tricks I have found is to say*excuse me for a moment* then put the phone down on the desk. It's their call, they are paying for it, so I leave them on the line for a few moments. I then pick up the phone and if they are still there, I let them wait a while longer. I do try to be polite and pleasant but they are trained to be persistent and I feel that if they can't take no for an answer then they will just have to learn the hard way.

Hehehe that's a good trick. Well at least I love PhoneTray (no I don't work for them)..you can have it block the call by saying that your phone has been disconnected, hehehe.

I'm on the do not call list, but sometimes one a-hole will slip by. Before my son could talk really well, I'd hand the phone to him when it was a telemarketer and he'd just keep saying "hi" and a bunch of nonsense. At least it entertained my kid for a few minutes!

Yea I know, but the places you do business can still call you unless you tell them not to. For example, my bank will call about taking a loan. I have no interest in additional service so then I have to call customer service to tell them to stop calling. It's so annoying, right? :(((. It would be funny to have the kid talk to them ;)))

Hm, yes that is SO annoying. That is why I call them or write them to stop call them because it gets so annoying about it, right? ;)

Thanks man, I'll check this out. We travel so cell phones are all we use and we never get calls on them but this will work for other people.

Yes, too bad it can't work for cell phones, but it can work on many computers because most come with a modem or you can buy a USB modem for it to work. Hehehe. Have a wonderful day

Our telephone is purely for business use only. As a government office, our time and telephone is very important. If we happen to get a call of these kind, we immediately tell them that we are not interested in their products. Another way is to inform them that we do not entertain telephone calls, so they can just come over to our office...
