Patients pet horse, visits him in hospital. |
|
I just so happened to be listening to the radio this morning on the way home from work, and heard the hosts talking about a new story that has turned up in our local news. A man decided he wanted to make his ailing friend happy who was admitted into their local hospital, so he decided to bring his pet horse in to cheer him up. He managed to get through the doors, onto the elevator and up to the third floor before security stopped them. I thought this was hilarious. I've heard of your dogs and cats being able to visit you in the hospital, but never a horse! I wonder though, how he managed to get past that many people before getting stopped. Also, the horse didn't freak out from going up on an elevator? This is definitly amoungst the strangest stories I've heard in news.

I have to wonder why anyone in the front lobby wouldn't see this and ring security or stop them themselves. In many hospitals there are axillary staff in the main lobby of the hospital.

| gypsy_owl (83) | 6 months ago | even miniature horses need to be kept mostly outside primarily when kept as pets... studies have proven that horses kept inside most of the time (even in a barn) instead of spending most of the day outside are MUCH more likely to get sick...(yes this includes miniature horses)

3. desertdarlene (5744) | 9 months ago | I heard that, too. I also wonder at the horse going up in the elevator with no problem. Most people I know can't even get the horse to go into a trailer! I wonder if it was a miniature horse or something like that. I think we had a local story here about a miniature horse that visits hospitals much like those dogs that do the same thing. I would have loved to see a horse when I was in the hospital, except that I'm allergic.

4. sunkissed (2334) | 5 months ago | WoW, it must have been a miniture horse. I can not believe that they got that horse all the way up to the third floor before anyone saw it..I do know that pets are great therapy and people do get attached to them, so I can understand why this man would want to see the horse, but to bring it into a hospital?
