My son has his first one coming up on April 16th. His class is going to Mount Vernon Estates and Gardens (George Washington's Home) and I am going to volunteer to chaperone
. I am excited about going as I have never visited the Estates and Gardens before and have never participated in a field trip as a parent/chaperone. After touring the place we will be heading to Riverside Park for a picnic lunch, which I'm sure is going to be fun too.
So, have you chaperoned a school field trip before? where did you go? was it a lot of fun or was it total chaos? LOL any tips for making it an easy day for all?
Thanks for sharing!

I have never chaperoned a school trip before, but did assist in the lunchrooms - oy!
I think it would be lots of fun while affording you to still keep a watchful eye on your own child.
I wished my folks would have considered chaperoning my school trips on occassion as I would have loved sharing the experiences with them - especially going to spain. my father had always wanted to go to Europe but never got there...

Wow you went to Spain for a school trip? wish I went to your school LOL
My parents came withus to a few sports trips to various places around New Zealand and that was fun to have them there, except my Dad didn't like my twin sister and I getting pushed around and was often too loud on the sidelines :)

You know I do not think I ever did a field trip, I worked usually when they were in school. but I have done other things , like work concession stands for girl scouts. Or help with the yearly craft fair or book fair. I use to work the town carnival for scouts as well. There is always some way for parents to participate in school and other activities your kids enjoy. Myself I always had fun. Good memories for sure. Have fun hun!

Thanks Deea :) So looking forward to it. Helping out with girl scouts would of been fun too I bet. My son wants to join the boy scouts next year so I'm sure they will have a lot of fun fundraising activities to take part in. Thanks again1 person likes this
