I didn't even have to invite him, because it turns out that he'd already invited himself--either that or else joined under someone else.
Here's how I found out.
I was looking for people from the San Diego area so I could let them know about Invisible Youth Network being headquartered in their city, and what should I see but a profile for Russell!
Just recently, I'd tried to convince him to join here as referred by me, and he replied that I knew he didn't have time to join a bunch of chit-chat groups.
I told him that there were actually a lot of intelligent and meaningful conversations going on around here.
He still told me thanks but no thanks because he was trying to get IYN "out there."
I said that I was, too, and that this was a great way to do so.
Anyway...back to original train-of-thought...
While I was checking out San Diego membership, there he was. I didn't even have to invite him.
The next time we talked, I told him that I didn't have to invite him to MyLot because he was already there, and I gave him the particulars.
He came over and checked everything out and has decided that--although he's very busy with other things--this was a site worth dropping in on at least occasionally.
He posted a new discussion yesterday, so this will be a great way for you to start to get to know the guy whom I speak so highly of and go on and one and on about.

I'm going to also share something else that Russell has written...
Invisible Youth is a growing network that provides resources and support for homeless and at risk youth.
We do this, every day, in cities across America. We carry out our mission through our partner organizations and volunteers who go to the streets in order to find, stabilize and otherwise help homeless and at risk youth improve their lives.
Our focus goes beyond street outreach and extends to deterrence, research, resource, seminars, training and workshops that we provide to the communities and via the Internet. But all facets of our mission are guided by that our volunteers shall tell kids that they care about them and then, at every point, prove it.
Our endeavors are towards all homeless and at risk children no matter their geographical location.
We invite you to visit the Invisible Youth Network web site for an overview of the Invisible Youth Network:

If you are able to help these kids with any of these items, please send them to:
[i]Because I'm thinking that it might be against the rules to post addresses here at MyLot, I'm going to now share a link to this information printed elsewhere with the address included...

Thanks for your good wishes--as well as for responding to this discussion, because it puts a connection to it over at your place where it can become further read.
You don't know just what all kinds of seeds you've sown just by contributing to this conversation!
God Bless You!!!
