Have you heard about the old man who carries the universe in a sack over his shoulder. Where is he going and what is he walking in?

Thank-you for your reply - if you find out who it is let me know, I heard it as a kid and someone mentioned it in the summer, but I don't know whose legend it is.

This is the first time I've heard about the old man who carries the universe in a sack. I wonder where the story originated? What culture it belongs to? Interesting!

I heard as a small child - very small from my momma who was 1/2 Irish, 1/2 Scottish but my granpa was Welsh. I read about it in a book this summer but do not know the whole story or anything about the legend , I think it sounds like a American Indian type story but really have no idea.
