Is anyone watching the HBO Miniseries John Adams?  |

|  This is a really, really good show. Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney Star in it and the acting, set, story, and costumes are just as good as what you expect from an HBO miniseries.
I must admit that I've always been intrigued by John Adams. He was a very interesting man, often overlooked and thought-upon poorly by those of his times, but he had principle and vision and was not afraid to stand up for what he believed in and what he thought was right.
Is anyone else watching this show, and if so what do you think of it so far?

| |  It's definitely a great cast and I have heard nothing but great things, yet I cannot bring myself to tune in. I've never been a fan of these period piece type dramas, or biopics for that matter. I'm afaraid I'll just have to take everyones word on it.

| |  Woot woot I should have suspected you were watching this one, especially after all of our great Rome discussions. Yes indeed Filmbuff I am watching it I downloaded the first episode just to see and I am hooked hooked. But as I told you before I adore period pieces and this one is just indescribably delicious.

| | I was looking forward to this but didn't know when it started. Thankfully I caught up on the first two episodes and than dvr'd the 3rd most recent one. Now it's set up to automagically record them for me.
What a fantastic cast! I've always been enamored of the American Revolution and the revolutionaries themselves. They were a different breed of men. | | | |

| | I have not seen the third one yet either as now I am waiting to watch it with my husband, he watched the second with me now needs to watch the first, then he will be caught up with me, I suppose we will get to watch them again Saturday night. Laura Linny is just so remarkable as Johns wife. She is strong and supportive yet you can tell who fuels his fires! I love all, the costumes, the realistic New England settings, the English temperaments and drawls of the language. Gosh I about bowled right over in my chair when I saw that David Morse was George Washington.... he is one of the unsung talents. Yep I am looking forward to great conversation with you over the next few weeks. | | | |

| | Yeah I remember reading and learning in school about tar and feathering, and yes they did do when it was boiling like that. It's one thing to read about it, but quite another to watch a simulation of it.
What I like so much about this series is the realism, it brings history to life and so far they have been extremely accurate to what is in the history books about what happened and the politics and temperments and motivations of the historical figures represented in the series. | | | |
