Back in time?

Wow! I'm not the ONLY one who thinks this way?? I would love to live without all of those modern things. I'd love to go back in time. Now.. I don't agree that there was no fretting and suffering..there always has been. But to live a sort of "amish" life so to speak (nope I don't wanna be amish!) would be awesome.

We are too accustomed to the easy life. I don't think any of us would have any weight problems if we lived in those days because there were no conveniences and you had to do everything from scratch. I know people in my lifetime who have lived that way.. having an outhouse.. they had electricity, but didn't have an indoor bathroom. When I was a kid while we were building our house we had a toilet in the cellar of our house.. we lived in the cellar while we were building on top. We had a toilet, but before the toilet we only had a slop jar.. and a big metal tub to bathe in. Can you imagine bathing 4 people in one tub.. one after the other? Those were bad days and I am glad they didn't last forever.

When I was a kid, we never had the horse and wagon, but our lives were pretty similar to what you have described.

We had no power, no bathroom, we did have running water only just though.
All our cooking was done on a wood fired stove, washing in a wood fired copper, kerosene lanterns, kerosene fridge.

Where I was born we never had power until the very early 1960's.
It was a peaceful life back then.
I would love to go back to that way of life.
Everything was so much cleaner.
Kids were kids, they went outside to play, they got dirty.
They were hardly ever sick, because they were allowed to get dirty.

sometime i wish we were back in those days it must have been hard,but then on the other hand when thats all you know of life i guess its just normal living,i would still like to be in those times i think i would get along just fine..
