I have some weight to lose and I have heard of people seeting unrealistic weight loss goals and then they give up because it takes to long to reach,I figure that 5-15 lbs in a good goal then once you reach that goal set another,or is there a better way so you don't get discouraged so easily?

I'd shoot for 2 lbs a week. This is a healthy loss, and one that is easily obtainable.

i set my goal at 10 pounds.. and then watch the scale drop, reward myself when i reach it.. then set another 10 pound goal. 87 pounds gone and counting, i will reach my optimum weight by july! ;crosses fingers;

I don't think there's any reason to set a goal at all. Just start eating healthy and getting lots of exercise and watch the pounds drop...

I think that sounds like a great plan! You should average 1.5 - 3 lbs per week, depending on how much you weigh. It could be more. Good Luck and Don't give up!!!
