I would love to go hiking in the woods in Kingsbury, New York. Kingsbury/Hudson Falls is my most favorite town of all. It has lots of amazing trails to navigate on. As long as I have a compass and cell phone on me. Of course there are great streams. There are hills. There are farms. Yeah, there is a railroad line, operated by the Canadian Pacific Railway, that runs from Canada/New York border down to New York City. That includes between Whitehall and Fort Edward. The railroad tracks were part of the Delaware and Hudson Rail System. I enjoy the town a lot.

Jakesnake1978 (1148) | 2 years ago | Yeah. Hudson Falls and Kingsbury is a very great place to hike in the woods. I bet you followed your brother into the woods and going to the Feeder Canal. The Feeder Canal joins into the Champlain Canal, where the Railroad Line is. The railroad is operated by the Canadian Pacific Railway. There is a spot that is the end of the trail leading you to the railroad tracks, just south of the Rt 196 bridge. You are still along the Old Champlain, that drains into the main canal. Actually the Feeder Canal drains into the Old Champlain before joining the Champlain itself. The Feeder Canal also drains into the Hudson River. Did you know that the Hudson River is about to be dredged? The General Electric planned on this, which was required of the EPA. We want the Hudson River to be cleaned and returned to its original state. Meaning all the PCBs will be dredged. All the dredged sediments will be brought to and processed by the transportation and processing facility along the Champlain Canal near the new rail yard. Once the PCB-saturated sediments and all filtered and dried, it will be loaded onto the gondola rail cars and sent off to the Texas-based Waste Control Specialists, who will handle the PCB waste. If you want to check this out, it is www.hudsondredging.com. .
