Buy dvd player! Give me your advise!

I dont have dvd player at my tv so i have to see movies at my notebook! But this sometimes is very annoying because the picture is not so good as at the tv and also the monitor is too small! So a took the decision to buy a dvd player and i prefer to have also a recorder! Do you know how much it costs and if i can find with two portals? One for the empty dvd and one for the movie. Also can i record the tv programm or not?
