Dry Clean or Iron yourself

I'm jumping on the "do you OR do you" bandwagon everyone seems to be writing like lately here on myLot. But I am curious...Do you iron your own shirts or do you take them to be pressed at a dry cleaners? I have my shirts pressed, costs about $10 a week. Put I love to iron. I press my t-shirts, jeans khakis if they need it. I'm not down with the wrinkled look. And lets be honest...is the wrinkled look really a look or does it mean you just didn't get to the dryer in time?

The wrinkle look is what we used to call the duffle bag look. You throw it in and are to lazy to iron. Not something the military is nice about. So, when I was in the military, faithly I took my uniforms to the cleaners with heavy starch. But since getting out of the military, I just do it mayself. and honestly, if I get it out of the dryer before the cool cycle time, it does not have to be ironed. This is a good time to throw in that I am pretty anal about hanging up clothes too. LOL Clothes must be hung on the hangers in a certain and same directions. If the hanger is hanging up, the front of the shirt must face the left. If one reads left to right, then it seems only obvious the clothes should hang from left to right. And if someone else hangs it wrong, I can not help but fix it. Is this OCD or a perfectionist that must have everything right? Dare I add that shirt must be hung with like shirts (camis, long and short), as with skirts, pants and dresses. I don't think it is OCD...blame it on the military!!!! You should see what they make us do in basic training!!!!

I have never been in the military but I am the same way. And yes you do suffer from OCD! Do you fold and place in a dresser as well? Or does everything get hung in the closet?

LOL There is no way to place all my stuff two finger spaces apart anymore. LOL Good one Zukepr!!!! Ummm, yes gotOBX, things have certain drawers and are folded. I thought that was just being neat. Ok, maybe the towel closet is OCD. But hey! It looks dang good!!! And I will give you that the pantry may be OCD with all the labels facing out. No...that is just so you know what everything it! Not OCD...just neat. :( :P

When I was still studying I used to send my clothes to a laundry shop because we’re not allowed to wash our clothes in my building. Now that I’m working and moved into a new place where I can wash it myself, I do it every weekends but for my blankets and bed sheets, it’s too heavy for me so I send them to the dry cleaners.

I prefer to have my shirts and my husband's shirts drycleaned. I try to get to the dryer right when it shuts off because I hate to iron anything. I can't remember the last time I set up the ironing board and plugged the iron in. However, I do try to buy clothes that look "wrinkle free" when they come out of the dryer. I don't like the wrinkled look either.
