What do you tell the kids when you are going in for a major surgery?

The three boys that I live with are my grandsons and I am helping my daughter to raise them. They are nearly 9 years old and 6 years old and the youngest who is 3 years old. So what do you tell the kids when you go in for major surgery and will be gone for a week at least, unless there are complications, in which case you will be gone longer? Then when you do come home, you will be healing for months and won't be able to participate in family activities. I haven't been away from the kids for the last almost five years. Oh, it's a surgery to remove a giant ovarian mass, size of a cantalope right now, and so they'll do a complete hysterectomy while they are at it.

Hi Doll I think you tell them that you need to have an operation and that you will be in very good hands and that you will miss them a ton and that when you come home they will have to be very gentle around you. I have been through it and it was very hard for me. I read "The Female Eunuch" and it was a blessing. xoxoxoxoxoxo
