Should we force non smokers to breathe our smoke? |
|
lol I just googled forces smoking (good site rubbishing the anti smoking lobby) and by mistake typed a "d" instead of an "s" at the end of force found this picture which made me laugh. In recent discusions on my lot smokers have been accused of forcing others to breath their smoke. Errr...no. But it could be a great idea to get own back lol how funny is this: http://www.colight.com/moreclp/dvideos/badboys/badboys_free_15.jpg
But seriously, the reason I bring this up is this. There is evidence that not only does passive smoking NOT caus illnesses like lung cancer but it may actually have a POSITIVE effect in prevening it.
Don't believe me? Look at this report the world Health Organisation has tried to repress for ten years: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/htmlContent.jhtml?html=/archive/1998/03/08/wtob08.html
More on the scam and a MASSIVE body of evidence to show that passive smoking is not harmful: http://www.forces.org/evidence/evid/second.htm http://www.forces.org/evidence/files/pas-smoke.htm
lol I can just imagine in the future when all this comes out that smoking may actually be seen as good for you. Don't laugh: http://www.forces.org/evidence/evid/therap.htm
stay tuned for more.
Lol can you imagine that lady in black could be a future nurse treating those still too scared to smoke lol?
Lol if there is a war between non smokers and smokers we can use this as behavioural correction therapy on prisoners lol.
Just kidding but seriouly, the way they describe us as "forcing" them to breathe our smoke is just a joke. All we are asking for is our own areas. And a recognition that the idea passive smoking causes disease is an outrageous lie.

1. jhl930 (2836) | 2 years ago | I mean I have mixed feelings about this because on one hand I mean I know that people smoke and thats just part of life and everyone's life because I think that we all have people in our families or friends that do smoke so we have to be around it then...and thats not a problme because that's your choice...but on the other hand if someone has some medical reason that they can't be around smoke I think we should respect that and not smoke around them...

Perry123 (136) | 2 years ago | yes if they had gone for that...distinct places...then that would have been fine. But they didn't. They even accuse us of killing other people by smoking with lies. They prepare to ban smoking in the streets and homes, and even arrest people for smoking around their childrrn or in cars, or if a woman is pregnant and smoking, and so on. Too far.
So to me by doing that and approving it, non smokers have sacrificed their rights too. I can only respect those who respect me and my rights.
I am quite happy NOT to smoke around people who do not like it....but once they come out with all this I am killing them nonsense they need some "therapy" lol.

3. emeraldisle (8978) | 2 years ago | Oh I loved reading that article. I can just bet they don't want to publish "a study which shows that not only might there be no link between passive smoking and lung cancer but that it could even have a protective effect". Let's face it they are going to end up with egg on their face. Of course then again look at all those studies that said eggs were bad for us and now they are saying just the opposite. Same with pork and milk for that matter. I had a feeling eventually smoking would be the same way. It's just about time they realize it.
I agree it is ludicrous how some go on about smokers and smoke. I've actually had some say "I don't care if you smoke at home but if you go out you need to shower and wear clean clothes first because of the cigarette smell". Talk about going over board. Most smokers I know just want to be left alone. Give us an equal area to the non-smokers and let us enjoy our cigarettes in peace.

4. Destiny007 (4558) | 2 years ago | Great picture, great post and fantastic links.
I could really have used them a while back, but naturally could not find anything useful when I needed it.
I have them now though, plus some others I have found since.
Isn't it amazing how junk science is driving so many agendas these days?

Perry123 (136) | 2 years ago | Oh yeah. You got it. No different to when the Church let science off the bridle 400 years ago and paid them to find what they wanted . Wiches were made of wood n stuff. so they'd float then they could burn them. And the majority of people believed them then too.
researchers are hookers. "Twenty five thousand dollar me love you long time" for couple of months fixing stats and then on to more paid work.
One scientist on tv recently was saying how if you want to do resarch project on squirrels in a wood in Kent you won't get funding. BUT if you say you are looking at the impact of global warming on squirrels in the wood in kent you will have money thrown at you from all those making money out of the ida of gloabl warming....which includes the government. Hell they may be able to com up with an excuse for a squirrel tax.
The emperor is wearing no clothes in any of it.
Anyway thanks for commenting and glad to be of help.
lol yep that pic is so funny, the guy such a wimp, and she is quite hot too.
I ckon that it would make great book cover:
"Passive Smoking: the Con of the Decade"
Boring book with loads of statistical de bunking....but with a hot outrageous cover so it sells loads!

jess368 (1400) | 2 years ago | So I started a discussion about how smoking can actually be beneficial. As of this afternoon, I can no longer find it.
Do you think mylot deleted it? Was this discussion against the rules? Non-smokers can talk about how bad it is, but smokers cant talk about the actualbenefits!!!

Perry123 (136) | 2 years ago | now are you in any doubt of the gravity of the situation? I think that kind of proves our point that social conditioning extends its tentacles everywhere.
Such links and discussions are regularly removed form internet sites.
There is one other possiblity...that my lot deleted it because you linked it to another discussion? try reposting it Jess.
But my feeling is it has been removed for daring to challenge the propaganda.
its like you can talk about any preposterous conspiracy theory you like but hit on a real one and its censored.
take note those who doubted us.
Somebody doesn't want the truth known.

bluemars (429) | 2 years ago | Yes and now smoking is the next tooth whitening agent being used and will be available in the next five years so how exciting is that, not only is it preventing cancers and is a miracle cure for many diseases but oh my god wait for it, there is more. WOW.

bluemars (429) | 2 years ago | There is no proof that smoking benefits health and to say that it does is really just condoning its use on a wider scale so that more people feel the need to do it because many want to quit and the disbelievers want them to never quit because they are unable to quit and want to continue with it just not alone.
| |
|
|
Perry123 (136) | 2 years ago | The proof has been given you are free to debunk it but have not done so. we all know it also has health risks. but the situation right now is of paranoia and many of those who want to quit are saying so because they are frightened and have been shamed...which is a disgrace.
| |
|
|
bluemars (429) | 2 years ago | This amuses me because you have failed to convince many of us that smoking is healthy especially because your argument is plain unscientific and unlogical. All you are doing is screaming conspiracy theory. There is no evidence on this entire discussion that states otherwise.
You have every right to smoke but you can't keep imagining that it doesn't hurt you and other people. Maybe you have been lucky not to lose someone to smoking related illness or pains. Maybe there is a reason why my friend can not run a mile without stopping to walk and he is young, healthy oh except for one thing, he smokes.

Perry123 (136) | 2 years ago | as usual blumars you haven't read the links. It is you who have failed to provide any evidence. it isn't a conspiracy theory....the historical evidence and scientific facts are clear.

6. NotaBene (105) | 2 years ago | Regardless of whether or not it is dangerous to health, it is very unpleasant to be around smokers. That is enough of a reason for a smoking ban. People have no right to make life unpleasant for others.

| |
|
|
Perry123 (136) | 2 years ago | I find annoying children unpleasant, some people find ethnic minorities, loud music, erotic images, etc etc unpleasant...shall we ban all those too?
Quite frankly I find it unplesant to be around such intolerant people and would like a place we can go where such unpleasant folk like you do not annoy us.

Perry123 (136) | 2 years ago | lol which bit?
it isn't that weird if one knows their history. The same bad science, smoking bans and propaganda have been used before: http://www.forces.org/articles/art-fcan/nazi2.htm
We beat that nonsense then and we will do it again.

9. MorningDew (290) | 2 years ago | Lo0o0ol I liked this topic:D I wish someday they will find that smoking is good for health -which I doubt by the way- maybe then I can increase the number of cigarettes I smoke and enjoy my More a bit More;p let's wait and see... As for forcing people to breath our smoke, I normally ask before I light up my cig and since most of my friends are smokers they laugh at me.. The thing I'll never do is smoking in a room with a pregnant woman even if she is a smoker... Thanks for the interesting topic:)

10. travibabiesgirl (990) | 2 years ago | I just wanted to share in this conversation. I am an ex-smoker and I was a die hard smoker with all the if you want clean air go outside and get it attitude. We smokers had to go out in the cold, rain, and sunshine to smoke while the non smokers got the nice comfy break room. I am now a non smoker but I still think smokers should be allowed to smoke in their home, cars, and have a designated smoking area that does have proper ventilation. the longer I go being smoke free the more I dislike the smell of smoke. I hate to be the one to say it but smokers hair and clothes have a strong smoke odor. My mom and step dad still smoke and I can not stand to be in their car because it smells so bad. I don't go visit her as much as I want to because when I walk in it looks like a bar in her house. I love her but I don't want my kids and I around so much smoke. I know I sound like a hypocrite and I am sorry. I do agree smokers should have their rights and have a place for them to smoke. As far as the health concerns I don't really know how I feel about that. My two grandpas (My moms dad and my dads dad) both had quit smoking for over 20 years before they found out they had lung cancer. They both found out with in months apart and both died from lung cancer with in a year of each other. It is discouraging to know that even after being smoke free for over 20 years you might still die of lung cancer. I know people that have smoked for over 50 years and act as healthy as a horse. This makes me unsure of the claims of health risk. I do however feel better since I quit smoking and think for me it was the right choice. I hope I have not offended anyone and just wanted to add my 2 cents.

Perry123 (136) | 2 years ago | not at all travibabiesgirl; it is interesting input.
may I ask what occupations your grandfathers had; whether they were in a similar environment etc?
also, just to take some worry from you, it may well be genetic disposition that conributes to lung cancer; yet ironically it appears that their fourth and fifth generation smokers start to lower their disposition. American indian for example, long used to tobacco, have less susceptibility to lung cancer. This is how evolution works. For example when the whole planet was wiped out of land life millions of years ago by comet and peristent fire and hat, the cockroach survived as it learnd to eat ash. I think it is the only animal that does so. Now the first cockroaches that would have done this would have had terrible illness, cancers etc. But they also bred. It is their offspring that survived while those that did not adapt perished.

|
travibabiesgirl (990) | 2 years ago | I am not sure what all my grandfathers had done. I know one was in the armed services and later became a plumber. He also rebuilt antique cars later in life. The other all I ever known him to have done was have a dairy farm. What you are saying does really make sense. I found the cockroach thing very interesting and I always said those creepy things could survive anything.

|
|
Perry123 (136) | 2 years ago | well th are links between both meat/dairy industry and lung cancer and exhaust fumes/body shop paint workers and lung cancer. however the timing of your grandparents cancers suggest a common experience far more agressive than smoking. Only between 3 and 9 smokers ever develop lung cancer so you see the odds of that being to blame at the same time are phenomenal.
Yes lol it will be the creepy smokers who end up with the strongest genes lol. In caifornia alrady there are signs of weakness in children with allergies and asthma on vast upward curve because they are wrappd in cotton wool.
