I was only 8 years old when he was killed and I remember watching it on t.v. although at the time I didn't know who he was. Does he matter? Here we 40 years later discussing him. He was a remarkable man with a truely great vision that may come to pass someday if we keep his dream alive

I saw a tape of his 'I Have a Dream' speech and I got chills. I was not born in those days, but I am glad I was able to watch it when I was old enough to appreciate it.

Of course he is still relevant. Even if I don't agree with some of the things he did in his personal life, he brought black people's problems to the attention of the United States as well as the world. And he advocated change in a peaceful manner. Never did he promote the violence that say the Black Panthers chose of getting their points across.
