do you often buy over the counter medicine? |

there are lots of medicine in the drug store nowadys that doesn't need doctor's prescription, medicine for fever, cold, flu and external creams are some that can be bought without asking the opinion of the expert. a lot of people are buying these drugs without seeking the advice of the doctor and self-treat themselves.
well, with the way price of everything is rocketing high i can't blame people for buying the cheapest medicine that they think can cure their illness without the help of the doctor, although i don't agree with this, a simple fever can be cured with a paracetamol but this simple fever might unknowingly be a symptom of something worse. and since we often self-medicate ourselves we fail to notice the condition affecting our health. over the counter drugs are helpful for simple illness but we still need to consult a doctor and seek for his opinion to declare ourself really safe.

djmarion (3292) | 2 years ago | as much as possible i refrain from taking too much medicine, if its just a slight headache then i resort to taking a nap to ease it. i know that some of these medicines have side effects so i don't want to be immune on them.

2. desertdarlene (5845) | 2 years ago | I'm proud to say that I don't use any medications anymore except a couple of prescriptions that my doctor gave me. I use supplements and vitamins, but only after doing research on them. I think if it's a minor condition, or a condition you know you already have, then it's fine to use over the counter medicines. But, obviously, anything serious or that doesn't go away with OTC medicines needs to have a doctor's attention.

3. RLFinNash (5721) | 2 years ago | hello djmarion
Do you often buy over the counter medicine? all of the time. i keep liquid Tylenol Plus around here for when my children get sick. as a matter of fact, it says right on the jar of it, that it is for colds, runny noses, sore throats, cough, congestion the whole bit. so that is usually what i give my boys when they are not feeling well or have a headache. and when i feel like i am getting sick off i will run to the local drugstore and purchase me whatever like Thera-Flu if i feel like i am getting the flu, allergy relief no matter what it is, i am not one to run straightway to the doctor's office when i feel sick. i do have Tenn-Care for my sons and myself when needed, but if i do give the over the counter medicine to my children or myself and that doesn't do the trick, then i will see the doctor.
have a beautiful evening.

5. williamjisir (13156) | 2 years ago | Hello dear djmarion. I also go to drug store to get my own medicine as I know what to buy for my health problem. I love those drug stores in the city or town where there are now so many chain drug stores. The medicine in the hospital is always so dear. I do not like to have it unless I have to.
