You just HAVE to watch this video!

I have seen this before and I loved it again. It reminds me of therapy. Art therapy for elephants. I wonder how long it took to teach the elephant to hold the paint brush or do you think it is just instinct?

Hey Carryl- It so ironic that you posted this video. My husband was telling me about this last night and he was going to show it to me and couldn't find it on his computer. This elephant is so amazing! It is so cool how he does the shading for the legs and goes over the paint strokes that are faint. I love how he draws that flower with such ease. He is so precise with his paint strokes. These gentle giants are a lot like humans in many ways. One way is that they grieve for a very long time if one of their children dies. Years ago when I worked at a bank in San Diego we had a bank function at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. At our cocktail party gathering outside we were joined by a 40 year old female elephant with her trainer. She wandered in and out among all of us paying her respects and "saying" hello. It was so cute! She loved to be with people and was so friendly. I'll never forget it!

Hehehe..I was just watching that last night..they had it on the news and not only can the different elephants do their "self-portraits" but have done paintings of flowers and such,...and so who says animals are dumb, right? Mmmm..wonder if I could train my kitties to paint?

I remember seeing this on tv once. Can't remember when but it was some time ago but the elephant was in captivity. She created some awesome paintings that actually fetched quite a sum of money for the owner.
