| Prenatal Vitamins  | | | |  I just got my prenatal vitamins this week because I get them through the mail due to my insurance so I don't have to pay co-pays. My doctor prescribed the prenatal vitamin plus. I started taking them on Wednesday but they've been making my stomach really upset. I'm not sure if its because I take them right after I ate a bowl of cereal with milk or if its something else that's causing the prenatal vitamins to make my stomach really upset.
I didn't have this problem with my son with the prenatal vitamins making my stomach upset and I know about every pregnancy is different I'm 7 weeks along. I don't feel ill when I first get up its only after I take the prenatal vitamin.
If anyone can give me advice on what I'm doing wrong that will be greatly appreciated or if any one can tell me how long the upset stomach lasts while first starting to take them would also be greatly appreciated.

| |  First off, you shouldn't be taking them with a bowl of cereal because the calcium in the pills and the calcium in the milk cancel each other out.
Often you will have to try a few different types of vitamins until you find the right one fo ryou. You should ask your docotr for some samples.
Why are you rodering the vitamins thorugh the mail? You can pick up prenantls vitamins at any drugstore or supermarket.

| |  Your not doing anything wrong. I think a glass of milk might have helped. Milk coats your stomach and tends to give a protective coating.It may be just the time of pregnancy too though.You can never tell what makes us ill at this time. By now you've had your baby but maybe next time.
