So why are Wii's so hard to find several months after Christmas? | | So I was entertaing the idea of getting a Nintendo Wii. I have not really been up on them to much other than I know that they were hard to get around Christmas and friends I know who have them seem to enjoy them. Being that it is several months after the holiday madness, I would have thought that I could have walked in almost any video game store or Best Buy or Wal-Mart and walked out with one, just as you can with a PS3 or Xbox 360. I walked in store after store this weekend, and eventually someone just laughed at me when I asked if they had any in-stock. I guess I don't get why Nintendo is still having problems mass producing this, and I would have figured every kid that missed out at Christmas would have had it by February. When I asked several stores when the net shipment was expected, one chain eluded that they show up any day of the week unannounced, usually around 10:30 AM. I asked if I could just call to see if it had arrived that day. They were snickering and said there was a line usually every day so if they got any it would be sold out immeadiately. So I don't get this, so noone works or goes to school anymore? It's not like I could run away from my job every day at 10:30 to see if they got any in stock. I checked online auctions and since there is a shortage, sellers are making about $100 extra for the auction than it retails, with the shipping costs and winning bid figures. It's not even like the graphics or game selections are all that great, it just seemed fun as long as I was not going to be taken to the cleaners to obtain one. Can someone explain why months after a Christmas rush, it is still an impossible mission to find one, and are they really all that entertaining?
