I live off the West Coast of B.C.....we do NOT have satellite, we just got High Speed Internet......NOW, I find out the few channels on T.V. I get, I will have to buy a box (as of Feb.09) for each single channel.....they are around 299.00each....it is called DTV....it is a SHOCK ....so if I want any channels I have to buy these boxes for each Channel! I now get 5 channels, that is more than 1500.00 .....JUST ANOTHER WAY TO SCREW THE LITTLE MAN.....I cannot be hooked up to Cable....there is NONE available! Technology got us by the B---s!

OH dear that is too costly in my opinion. I had satellite television but I stopped from updating and buying expensive cams that would expire after a few months. I had to go for cable television. there are websites that stream free television stations online.

Are you not experiencing the transition to Digital T.V. in Malta? All of the TV stations in North America (including all the ones that were available by "rabbit ear" antenna) will be switching to digital....The U.S. on Feb.o9 this year, and Canada has a reprieve, and it will be Aug. 2011! I do not know the technological reason behind this switch...other than that it is costly for the little-man...and we will all be forced to go digital if we care to have TV in our homes! Even if you have cable or satellite, you have to buy a digital converter box! I am just out of the loop, when it comes to Cable TV...it exists up to about a mile from me (that's what I get for choosing a rural lifestyle)...so my only other option is Satellite TV! I am trying to weigh the pro's against the con's...am I willing to "dish out" (LOL) between 5-8 hundred dollars for a Satellite dish...and then $50.00+ a month for the priviledge of TV? Would be interested in knowing more about stream free TV stations online..ronaldinu? The other night when the Canada/Sweden Gold Medal Hockey game was on Channel 5, TSN, my son sent me a link....and I was able to watch the game on line...I just had to hit the mouse every few minutes, so the computer did not go back to screen saver! I was so thrilled to be able to watch the game! Don't laugh, ronaldinu...Iam a real "tomboy" Mom, and my son still plays all the sports I played with him as a child...mostly hockey & baseball! That's your laugh for the day!
