Is There a Benefit to Having Many Friends?

I don't mean referrals, but just people who see you in a discussion and send you an invite to be their friend. Is there any benefit to having many friends? Do you accept everyone who sends you an invite? Does it help your ratings or anything? Just wondering.

I think there is nothing you can say for certain. But many friends means if many of them are active and they choose to reply from friends discussion, you get many responses. i almost all the day try to answer mostly from discussion started by my friends.
