"The Cottage"

I watched this the other week and was pleased to find another addition to the genre of great British horror-comedies.

I love the dry sense of humour and when paired with a horror theme it's usually never a miss for me. My all-time favourites are "Dogsoldiers" and "Shaun of the Dead", although "Severance" was superb also.

"The Cottage" is about a botched kidnapping by a pair of hapless brothers and it is set in the middle of nowhere. They take a gangster's daughter to a cottage in a remote area of the countryside, only to have her escape, taking one of the brothers hostage.

The interaction of the characters is really funny but another layer is added when a stalking, crazed, monstrous serial killer happens across them.

The film includes Andy Serkis (Gollum! great actor!) and Reece Shearsmith from "League of Gentlemen".
