Helping my friend

I have a friend she is 21, and she is also diabetic. I watch her go in and out of the hospital at least 4 times a month because she doesn't take care of herself. She refuses to eat the foods she is supposed and also drinks. It kills me because I can't force her to take care of herself, but she just won't do it! She truely knows that she is probably killing herself and she doesn't care because she wants to live like a normal person. We just all know she isn't normal. I want to help but it seems impossible. Any suggestions? Does anyone else have to deal with this kind of situation?
