How do you feel when you get stood up?

It really hurts to get stood up by a friend or a date. I don't mind if they call to say they will be late or can't make it but to be left hanging somewhere and not knowing whether they are coming or not hurts.

I've had this happen to me several times in my life. Once there was an emergency and, in the days before cell phones, my friend was unable to let me know that he was having trouble. The other times, I found out just what kind of people they were and never bothered to make plans with them again. I've learned not to be hurt by this kind of behavior. It is no reflection on you - it is a reflection of the rude, self-serving, inconsiderate person who stands you up and leaves you hanging. People like this are not worth my time and they are not worth your time, either.

Thank you for your comments as I agree with you completely. They are not worth our time if they are going to be inconsiderate like that. Fortunately, it has not happened to me recently. I stopped communicating with the ones that did that to me repeatedly.
