Honesty and children?  | |  Are you 100% honest or do you bend the truth? I am someone who is very honest and always have been with my kids, no matter what it is, I believe you need to tell kids what they need to know when they ask it, and never lie to them. All my kids know there isnt a santa, and that we work hard to give them their presents at christmas, some people think this takes the joy out of their childhood but I dont, my daughter believes there is fairies and because I cannot disprove this it might be true who knows? I feel that my kids have grown up to be very honest and open and enjoy life more because they understand the truth in life.

There are some ages when you can't tell them the truth because you can make them hurt because they can't support it. Of course, finally they have to know the truth but only when they will be ready for it.
I don't know how old are your children, maybe they are old enough to know that there is not a santa an they could understand this. But, in my opinion, children must to be glad with these little hoaxes because when they will grow up they will have time to know that they have to work hardly to gain one's livelihood.

Let me ask you this though, if you dont mind, just out of curiosity...Are you a Christian or just religious at all for that matter, doesnt have to be Christianity..If so how do you personally handle talking religion to your kids?

My kids still love easter and christmas just the same even though they know there isnt a 9ft rabbit bringing them a chocolate egg LOL | |
