A song from Dolly Parton  

Molly, I have never been on youtube, my son has and sends me quite a few things to check out.. Not everyone is a Dolly Parton fan but when I heard that song it really made me stop and think, so my way of saying Thank you God was to start the discussion about the song.. I know that the tags help to guide people to certain discussions and the tag Dolly Parton would only bring in the Dolly fans.. There are so many tags and interests on here that it is almost impossible to get a great discussion going.. I haven't heard of the Newsboys, is that a group that a young 60 yr old would listen to.. I am a huge fan of the old 50's and 60's rock and roll, also gospel music.. I enjoy seeing what others listen to and enjoy.. Thanks so much for the response, and I will watch out for your discussions..

Well you can look up anything on youtube... any of your favorite music should be on there... even stuff from the 50's. That's the awesome thing about that site!

The Newsboys are contemporary Christian... they sing very wonderful music to the Lord... very inspiring. I have a wide range in musical taste... so I enjoy everything from country (classic to new), to rock (old and new), to classical, to bluegrass, Christian (from traditional hymsn and gospel to contemporary).... basically everything!

I do like some of Dolly's music... but I must admit I haven't heard a lot of her music.

I have been a saved christian since I turned 8 yrs old, but have been having some troubles and questions about my religion and problems going on in the world.. I listened to this song and read the words and it just seemed to give me the lift that I needed and answered some of the questions that had been on my mind.. I have it in favorites and listen to it when I feel the need.. I lost my 90 yr old mom a bit over a year ago and when I hear this is helps me to get things into perspective again.. I too am a Christian, and was brought up in an evangelical church. I find that this many years later, I still have things that I see around me, that cause me to question my faith. I don't mean I totally lose my faith, but just have a hard time understanding some things, like you've said. Unfortunately, some of the people I know, are very narrow minded too, and don't show the love that 'Christians' are taught to show, and this is another problem I have. At times like this, I need (for myself) to get my eyes off of people, and focus on God. Thanks again for sharing this beautiful song. The video site I was on, didn't have the words printed out, so I'll have to look for them again. Take care.
