Hey husky lovers!! Has anyone tried the Invisible fences with a husky? My huskies are proven escape artists and If they saw a cat or another dog or anything that peaked their interest they would be off like a shot. I've spoken to a couple of installers who are unsure having never done one for a husky before. They are very hard headed at times.

I have a Malamute and it works on him, I got it when he was 4 months old. He stays away from the edges! Malamutes are bigger than Huskies, but they have the same type of fur, I did have to get a different collar direct from the company, the regular couldn't penetrate all that fur, this was his winter coat. The collar is for Stubborn dogs, he's a Malamute, need I say more, LOL
He's now 125lbs and it works on him just like when he was little. You do have to train them to it, and they will have to be shocked at least once.
The Stubborn collar is even better than the regular one because it vibrates before it shocks. Usually the vibrate is enough to work on any dog trained to it.
Good Luck!

My husky never tries to leave. And my yard isn't even fenced. He walks around the yard on his own or following me while I'm gardening and we never have had an issue. Is it common for huskies to try and run off or bolt like that? Mind you.. I'm not saying "wow I'm great.. my dog is perfect because of me" LOL I adopted him a year ago and he is 5 years old. Whoever owned him before did an excellent job with him.
