|  geez, i watch cloverfield, my daughter ask me the question..."daddy, is it real"??because i'm scared.." i just told her no, daddy never heard the legend (because daddy is tha big fan of godzilla..heheheh)..if it's fake what is the purpose of the movie??? and what do you think the next monster movie base on myth oe even real event??

| |  Everyone I know loved it. Then again, my friends and I don't watch R-rated movies, gore, horror, sexual or anything spiritistic. I think when you remove those elements.. everyone thinks "it's no good". I liked it well enough. I wouldn't watch it 20 times but it was good and the ending was.. well.. surprising. My kids (grown) hated the ending, not because it wasn't well done, but because it was tragic.

| |  Obviously, it's fake. If it was real, I doubt having the head of the statue of liberty knocked off it's head would go unnoticed!
As for purpose, well, the short terms are to make money for those involved with the film, and to take hold of the auidences' imagination, to make them wonder "what if?"

| |  I saw the movie yesterday. Normally I'm not very fond to watch fiction movies with monsters and creatures from another planet etcetera. But this one..I really recommend to see it! I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end.
What was so great about the movie was the special filming style through first person eyes.. Very original and pleasant to watch, just like you were in the movie.
Although it was recorded by a handheld camera, I don't think the filmmaking was a cheap procedure. There were plenty of nice effects which were all very detailed.
One to see!
