moving to new york  | |  I have been thinking about moving to New York, but I was told that the crime is very high. If this is so then I will not move.
Is there anyone that lives in New York that can tell me if this is a good place to raise a family? Is the cost of living high there?

I was never robbed, attacked, or harmed in any way, but I knew people that were. As for living there, no I wouldn't recommend it. The cost of living there is very high. Unless you have a good job that pays very well I wouldn't suggest moving there. Also it is NOT a place you want to raise your children. The public schools there are horrible. I would never raise my kids there. Now as far as visiting there, then yes I recommend that. The city has a lot to offer especially if you like Broadway plays which I do. But trust me it is NOT a place that you want to raise your family in. Thats why my Mom moved us all away from New York to Kentucky. She always wanted to get us out of the city to some place that was a lot more safer. I hope I was able to help you in making your decision as to whether or not you should move there.

The crimial rate maybe high at someplace but totally speaking, America is a legal counry!
