I'm so excited! On this coming April 22, we are bound to travel to Singapore and Malaysia! I am so looking forward to seeing a new country apart from Philippines. I believe that the two are progressive countries and as i watch travel guides in the television, i can see that the said countries were so clean and so industrialized. It will be an adventure for us! We were invited by a friend of ours who is now living in Singapore and she said that it will only take a train trip to Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) from Singapore. So we decided to also have a side trip in order to have a glimpse of Malaysia as well. It will be my second time to go out of the country and i'm really thrilled to travel and create happy and educational memories again this time in another Asian country. (my first travel was in Thailand) If any of you guys have been to Singapore and Malaysia, hope you can give me some travel tips so that i can prepare well in this upcoming travel. I would like to know especially about the particular places which could be interesting to go to in both countries, tourist attractions, special places which are peculiar to both countries. Thanks in advance!:-))

Singapore and Malaysia have almost the same culture. You call older people "uncle" or "auntie." Cleanliness is a norm except in some residential areas (I visited an HDB were old people also lived and some of them spit on the floor and on the walls!) But if you go to public areas, you will find it unbelievable how they keep the city clean and orderly. travel is made easy especially in Singapore where public transport is efficient. As for tourist attractions in Singapore, must-see are: Singapore Zoo, Sentosa, Jurong birdpark, Universal studios, orchard road shopping malls. Try buying tickets in bundles (they sell tickets for Jurong Birdpark-Night Safari-Singapore Zoo at a discount.) Also, try the local cuisine. the staple is chicken rice. Some parts of Malaysia are just like the Philippines. They also have old buses and taxis. But Kuala Lumpur is becoming more like Singapore now. Presently, I'm in KL with my family on a vacation. We'll be going home on the 16th of April. Anyway, I hope this was helpful. I wish you a happy and safe trip!

Thank you for responding watergirl.. Actually i posted this discussion some years back. I have been to singapore and malaysia and i must say that i really enjoyed our trip. Indeed, as expected, Singapore is very clean, disciplined, and efficient in terms of people's lifestyle and environment. I really admired its government for efficiently implementing the country's rules and regulations, i bet that's why their citizens are so disciplined and the country's very progressive despite of its small area. The same goes to Malaysia, its a very progressive country and i really love the lights of the Petronas Tower! It's amazing and wonderful to actually witness Petronas myself. I used to see it only on TV or magazines, finally I tok a good look at it during my trip there in KL..
