I was just looking at a program about India and they were featuring snake charmers and the art.
Apparently the snakes usually cobras are defanged so tat they do not poison anybody, then you cannot train a snake, you must learn it's natural reactions to things.
Snakes to not hear the music and therefore do not respond to it, they respond to touch, but nobody is touching the snake in the basket.
What actually gets them to sway is watching the instrument, they are trying to attack and the skillful charmer creates the rhythm of the dance.
I enjoyed watching this program and I was wondering, have you ever seen a snake charmer perform in real life,do you like to what shows about different cultures?

Before my thoughts, can I call you, mylot mommy Rose?
I haven't witnessed one personally. Watching one on TV even scares me and I am afraid for the charmer. But it amazes me at the same time. it was lovely and awestruck amazing at the same time.

Whew, this is the one of the favourite shows i used to watch in my streets and all the kids and all of my friends watch this, and i just know that the instrument is the only thing which controls the Snake and this is special music for Snake by which they just lost concentration and do some fun for kids and all visitors,,, its very lovable to watch and i never ever scared about that, and neither i had seen anybody got attacked by those snakes.
Have Fun!!!

Once many years ago
I was invited to a revival
of sorts out in the swamps of
Louisiana and there were
these people all praying and
dancing with these deadly coral snakes
They were kissing the snakes
and I'll tell you what
scared the panties of me!

It always fascinated me the way they get those snakes to do that! I have never seen one do it in real life, but I have seen it on tv. I do think snakes are cleverer than we think though, we have 4 snakes and I have to say that they are quite fascinating and far more intelligent than I ever thought they were. I love to watch shows about different cultures, it is really interesting to learn about the things that go on in other countries and how they live and how everybody else celebrates everything.

I love watching shows about other cultures, I watched one on India not to long ago. I have watched snake charmers on television but not in person I hate snakes..they give me the willies so I stay as far as I can from them. I like learning about the different cultures and what they do different from me as a american. I think some things are awesome while other things are to strict with their rules. But I love learning about their foods as well.

I agree with you
, I think the more we know about the other cultures the easier it would be to understand them and not put our foots in our mouths
about some things and we wouldn't offend people as much as well with the things we do and take for granted that everyone else does them as well when other cultures don't do it and find some things offensive

I love watching about different cultures and learning about different people. It would be a much better world if we all understood each other.

I didn't know that information that you just shared here. I always thought that the snake charmers had to have no fear of the snakes to do what they do. Now I am getting a little different thought of what they do. I do like to watch programs that show about different cultures. I think it is fascinating.
