I have worked in the call center in three months but most of the time i worked in the night shift and it is very difficult handle the calls in different timings but most of the calls getting irritating calls because most of the people scold and speak unnecessary things. we may get some health problems if we work daily more hours and sitting the chair so i have faced so many problems while i was working in the call center. In my country you can find number of call centers.

Hi Dasari100! There are several call centers now in our country too. I have some friends who work there and have attested also to the fact that it is very hard working on night shifts. They also say that it is tiring to talk all the time to different people and they could only take breaks for a few minutes. And they always have rude callers too who shouts at them and say mean things. I guess, it is a stressful job. Just my thoughts friend! Take care and have a nice day! :)

we need to work in the night shift for centers because we need to call them according to the customer free time so we need to work in the night shift so we may get some body pains also.

It can be frustrating for you when people are rude to you because there is no need for them to be. The majority of people even if they are not interested in the reason why you call I am sure are pleasant but these rude people tend to hurt unecessarily, also the long nightime hours must make you very tired. I don't know if you can get any health problems perhaps stress if you let the bad calls get to you and also working nights can through your bodyclock out of synch. If you feel unhappy see if perhaps you can find another job whilst still working and having income from this one. Good luck. Ellie :D

Usually the problems associated with call center agents are the shift schedules where you don't have a fixed working time. To add to that, it is usually a sedentary type of job where you lack physical exercise!

We need lot physical exercises for this work and i have been doing some exercises not only for this work for my physical fitness. But most of time we may get back pain for this work and mental tension will be there.

Hey..Dasari..I handle technical support for ISP..and you know how you can easily loose internet connections..so you would expect really frustrated customers...and my shift i would say is the worst. I need to get up at 2 am to be in the office by 4 am..But you know what..I guess it would depend on the account that you handle. In our case, I'd say, only 2-3 percent would be irate callers. And 20 percent are actually friendly and cooperative. You may want to ask some call center friends here on mylot, and check it out. Perhaps you just happen to handle bad account/program.
With regard to health issues on working at night. Think of those nurses, doctors, security guards, factory workers on 24 hr. shift rotation. I don't think you should worry about that. You need discipline, though and time management.
There are effective exercises you can do on your chair during breaks (or when there's a bit of avail)(i wish i can show you, check out on the web). You can also do a half push up by leaning forward on your table while you are standing on your feet. If you have mastered your calls, you can actually do that (some of my friends would even take a 15 min nap while on call..that's because we handle troubleshooting which may require 10 mins to an hour for us to help the caller on a single call). And try to understand that those callers have nothing against you personally, they are frustrated about the product or service and not you..
So there, I hope you don't look at your job so bad..Try to count the pros and remember..you are not just an ordinary employee, by becoming part of customer service, you become a valuable person to those people whom you were able to help with your assistance. I hope that each day, you consider it a fulfillment to have helped others who are otherwise feeling helpless.
If you have any question or anything, please let me know.
