 Now the original ending to this film was...will smith makes it out alive with the lil woman and the little boy without the cure to save humanity. The New ending...he dies...but his work(the cure) carries on with the woman and the little boy to the safe zone. Now why do u think they had to take out the original ending, or which of the two would you prefer?

Too often in big Holywood movies they go with the happy ending where everyone survives and all is good. Sometimes good things don't happen without a little sacrifice

They didn't want an ending where everything turns out perfectly fine and they all live happily ever after. Personally, I like the second ending better because he bravely gives his life to save the woman and the child.
