My son's obsession is arranging things. My husband and I joke that he's going to be an interior decorator when he grows up, because he will carry around blankets and drape them over things, then straighten them repeatedly. He also lines up blocks and then moves them around as if trying to make them look right, and he gets really really angry if you mess up something he arranged.

I don't know about obsessions (well, my teen does occasionally- don't they all?) But my 7 yo old is very reliant on his own routine, his own schedule, his own space, his own things, etc and once he gets used to doing something this way it is VERY hard for him to have to do it that way. For example, it took him months to work up to going to kids church, and last week he decided FINALLY that he would go. Well, he didn't know that they'd moved the class into the new wing they just built and he happily headed into the old room. When he realized it was in a new room, he was tearful and almost "frightened" and that was the end of him going that day. He did however go yesterday after having a week to get used to the idea of it being in the new room. I don't think it's a "disorder" per se, but it definitely is something we're watching!
