Jet Li wins the Best Actor award!

OMG! Jet Li just won the Best Actor award, a rare prize, in the Hongkong Film Awards on April 13, 2008. He won the title for portraying General Pang Qing Yun in the movie The Warlords opposite Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro as his blood brothers. More of the news here:

I've watched the movie and yeah he gave a great performance there but somehow i wasn't satisfied with it, maybe because he was kinda the bad guy there in the end. ^__^;; and maybe because the copy of the film i've watched was badly dubbed in a language i am not familiar with it. ^__^;;
but i'm really happy for Jet Li! as a great fan, i'm really happy for him. Go Go Go Go Jet! kya! the more reason i can't wait to watch Forbidden Kingdom!

that is great news. though i have not watched all of his films but he is a good actor and getting better because of his exposure. people here in the philippines love him ,too.

Jet Li is one of the most incredible screen presences to come out of Asia. I don't think there is another Asian actor since Bruce Lee who has had quite the impact that he's had on movies in the Western World. The guy litterally kicks-butt when it comes to his martial arts movie - hey we all know the reason why Mel Gibson won the fight in Lethal Weapon 4 - it was writen into the script -otherwise Mel would have been kicked left right and centre.

Yup, i read on the papers yesterday and it was reported that he won the award, beating andy lau to it.. LOL ^_^ NAd jet li was so happy that he even commented that, he should not make so many of kungfu movies that prolong his time of finally winning the best actor award in the hongkong film awards.. LOL

yeah, he beat Andy Lau! Andy Lau's performance in The Warlords was impressive too and that makes it Jet Li's winning more impressive because he beat another great actor.

Wow! Jet Li is my favorite actor and martial artist. I have been watching his action movies since I was very young. From Once Upon A Time in China to his latest movie. He is very good in acting and also in martial arts. He is an expert on that! I think he just deserves to have this best actor award after all his great movies which is loved by both Asians and Westerners alike.

hi jarves! he really deserves that award! i so agree with that. he had done a lot of movies and most of them are successful especially the Once Upon a Time in China movies. he even succeeded in the Hollywood so its just right that he won that award. and he really gave an impressive performance in The Warlords.

Oh, my dear Jet Li fan! I think if there is an award for a loyal fan, you should be the one. I am not a great fan of Jet Li but I did watch most of his movies. I love Asian actors too like Andy Lau, Simon Yam, Chow Yuen Fatt, Takeshi, Kimura, Won Bin, Rain and etc but not as great fan as the way you love to see Jet Li in his latest movie. You are a very amazing fan. If I have the power, I will bring Jet Li right to your door. Just imagine, what will happen to you, friend?

Wow! I also am a fun of Jet Li. I am soo happy that he won the best actor Award. I have not watched warlord as yet. I must watch that film.
Thanks for the link. am going to look at it. Is Forbiden Kingdom a new jet li movie? Gosh where can I get it.

He really deserves to win for the Best Actor award.
It is really cool! And I have seen the forbidden kingdom as well, he is the best! hehe

nice to know that you like Jet Li too! i'm always glad to meet fellow Jet Li fans! its an odd thing that we have watched the film and yet, it's still not shown in the theaters!
