Describe the moment you realized what you wanted to do with/wanted out of life

At one point did you have that "Aha!" moment where you finally figured out what you wanted to with or what you wanted out of your life? Where were you? What were you doing? How has figuring out your life's purpose change you? Are you doing what you want to do now, or still working towards it?

I figured out what I wanted to do with my life when I was 10. I was listening to Alice Cooper's "I'm 18", and it was the first time I realized that songs were a form of storytelling, which I loved to do. I thought, "I want to be a writer. And I want music to be my source of inspiration." So, now, nine years later, I still want to be a writer--of books, of movies, of plays. And music is still my inspiration. In fact, I have written several short stories based on or around the plots I've deriven from song lyrics ("Race for the Prize" by the Flaming Lips, "Screenwriter's Blues" by soulcoughing, and of course, that Alice Cooper song, to name a few), some of which have won top prizes in fiction-writing contests. I'm studying at a university at the moment, with a dual-major in Professional writing and Film/Media. And as soon as I graduate in a year and a half, I'm moving to NYC.
