Hector had honor and loyalty. Even though he didn't morally agree with Paris but he stood by his brother out of loyalty. Ultimately, it wasn't Hector's decision, it was King Priam who decided to let Helen stay.
I hated Paris, what a sissy! LOL

My favorite scene in the movie is when King Priam went and knelt in front of Achilles begging for his son's body so he can give it a proper burial. Seeing a proud father kissing his son's murderer's hand made me shed some tears.
