summer disappointment  | |  summer vacations are suppose to be fun,right?..well not for me..at least not this summer..i took summer classes coz my entire vacation plans got cancelled..and to think it took me almost a year to plan this summer's activities..this was suppose to be the fist summer where i get to go on a vacation w/o parental supervision..i wanted to take a road trip around mindanao coz i havn't done that before.so i started planning(set a date, budget, places to go, sights to see, food to eat, all that jazz!)..i told my parents about it and at first they said yes, but towards the end of last month, somehow the climate changed and my folks said no faster than you can say "road trip"..no further explanations except that i can't go because they can't coz they have a business here to attend to..i figure they want to join me, but darn it! can't they just follow me after they conclude whatever business they have here instead of slashing my hopes of a wonderful vacation onto pieces?..so now it looks like my summer sunshine just turned into winter snow..and since my folks holds the visa and other credit cards(all the tools needed to get to financial nirvana), it looks like i am stuck here in this wretched house and the farthest place i can go is school..God! i can't wait to graduate so i can get out of here and live my own life!

But I also understand your parents point of view (I am a parent myself). It sounds to me like you are saying that your parents were paying for the trip, is that correct? If so, then they have the right to cancle. If you have been on any trips/family vacations, you should be thankful, I have 3 children, ages 13, 12 and 9, they have never been on a family vacation, as far as that matter goes, I never have either. So please don't be so upset with your parents. I understand you are disappointed, but there will always be next summer...or maybe after they are done with the business they need to get finished up, maybe you all could take a vacation, maybe not what you had planned but at least it would be a vacation.
Oh and by the way, trust me, when you get out there on your own, it isn't all it is cracked up to be. Yes you get to do what you want to do, but you have to work, you have many bills and many responsibilities. Good luck and I hope you end up having a great summer anyhow.

| kakizui (3) | 2 years ago | ei nelly5..thanx for the comment..i appreciate it a lot..actually, i wrote that message coz i was feeling kinda down and moody lately and i think its bcoz of the vacation thing..so i thought i should get it out of my system, you know..i was logged on my lot and i guess i just kinda wrote it down(or rather, spilled it out, heehee)..i needed the release, you know.i feel better now that i did..come to think of it though, i bet you think i was stupid writing it down..i hope you dont think of me as an ungrateful daughter..i just dont like the feeling of getting my hopes up and then getting hurt and disappointed in the end..the feeling kinda sucks, you know..ill try to salvage this vacation wreck though..ill make the best of whats left..as for moving out of my folks house, i think id still like to do it..after grad..i know its gonna be hard but at least id be able to stand on my own 2 feet, be able to make my own decisions, take responsibility,make mistakes and learn from them..live my life..i hope you understand where im coming from..thanx again..(",) | |

I do know and can understand your disappointment. Maybe if you go to your parents and talk calmly and rationally with them, you all could figure out another trip for when they are done with their business stuff they need to take care of.
