Hacking the iPod Touch! |
|
Hey everyone, I have had my iPod Touch for a long time now, what bothers me is I see many people around me with the same thing, yet not hacked! To be honest, its a waste of money to buy one and not hack it! Yes there are some downsides to doing this, but talk about getting your moneys worth, it makes sense! Has anyone hacked their's? Do you think that this technology is becoming to easy to get more out of? Please post your opinions and comments! Best of Luck! Jack

1. AnakSuNamun (296) | 5 months ago | I think that buying a hacked Ipod or Iphone is a good way to save money but the problem is that Apple's warranty does not cover hacked/unlocked products. You might enjoy it while it works, but once it breaks you can't get it fixed or replaced for free,as most regular Apple stuff. Have friends who work in the retail store

You can even call off the iPod Touch thanks to developers! So I don't have to spend money on a new iPhone! Make sense! Jack

It's not a firmware hack, it's a TIF exploit, which Apple probably put there on purpose so that hackers could develop loads of apps for it. If it goes wrong you simply restore to factory settings.

2. cooldude_no1 (731) | 5 months ago | why do you need to hack your iPod Touch? Do you mean unlock? I thought the iPod Touch was never locked at the first place? It is not a phone.

| orufan (2) | 4 months ago | it's called jailbreak which is different from unlocking it. jailbreaking your ipod allows you to put a lot of apps including games and other cool stuff such as being able to call people over sip-voip. jailbreaking is free and is definately worth it if you have an ipod (or iphone!!).

I would recommend jailbreaking to anyone who has an ipod touch. There's a site that'll do the jailbreak automatically just by visiting a link. Just type in 'ipod touch jailbreak' in google - you'll find the one. Have fun with your touch, and keep your eyes out for new sources on the forums - some have malicious code, but are usually flagged up very quickly by the techies.
