Well, I DID make it down to the big city for 420. We went down to the big TO, downtown, College and Yonge Street. A very mellow demonstration with very little police presence. Very calm, peaceful and smokey! Wow! A few skateboarders entertained us in the sitting bowl there while we relaxed. My hubby bought me a cannabis leaf leigh. We really had to talk the guy into selling it to us. But $6 later, i was wearing it all over the downtown core. we passed a few cops on our walking tour, but none paid any mind to my blatent act of disobedienc. Despite the fact, I was a little nervous since I was carrying some pretty special cigarettes. I also found out that there is an even bigger protest march planned for MAY 3rd, 2008 downtown TO, but at Queen's Park North from noon to 8pm. They are calling it the Toronto Freedom Festival. There will be at least 20,000 people in attendance. It is Canada's largest marijuana event. There will be 4 stages of music and speakers. Marc Emery is on the roster, too. It will be the world's largest marijuana march. It is FREE ADMISSION, too. Got to www.globalmarijuanamarch.ca if you want more details, but I think I may just go to it as well. I really feel that this is an important issue and if we are able to make it there and show support, it will make more of an impression on the gov't. I think the Tories have had their day and this current scandal may just allow us another voting opportunity to get them out of office. We need to do whatever possible to try and get MJ legalized. I particularly feel for the people that need it for medicinal purposes, but are still harassed. So, are you going to the Toronto Freedom Festival?
