Have you been conned or hurt by a spiritual teacher

When i was working in the Us on a retreat I met several women who had been 'tricked' into believing that the 'spiritual male guru' was a good guy, when in fact he manipulated lots of the vulnerable females in the retreat to 'look after him' in ways that were less that spiritual. I know that we can say that these women are adults but when they are in a place of solitude it is ofetn because they are vulnerable. Have you experienced being 'conned' by someone or an organisation that was not what it seemed. I am going to be doing some research on this and would welcome your posts.
