Have you ever been to a Summer Camp? Your Children?

Hi Rose. I didn't go to summer camp as a child. I did however many years ago as a Girl Scout leader. I had a wonderful time. I so enjoyed being with all the kids, learning things together, being creative, swimming, hiking, etc. I went two years. After having my second tubal pregnancy it was too hard to be around the children knowing I wouldn't have my own. Now they are grown, getting married, having kids of their own. I am astounded. I saw them go from 8 years old to 18 with nothing in between. Hugs

I never went to summer camp as a kid - though we never spent a summer at home, my father was big into traveling and we always went camping and traveling around the USA. He was such a great dad! I have one child that does go to summer camp for 1 week each year, but it is a 600 mile drive one way so taking her coming home going to pick her up coming home again that ends up being 2400 miles and at the price of gas I just do not know if we can do it. plus my son needs to go out there to finish his university application orientation thing - which is not during the same time as camp... augh. it does not look like I will be able to afford going to see my mother this summer.

We have never been on a summer camp and nor has my son. I am thinking of putting him in one through the local community center but have yet to check it out. I think he will enjoy being with kids than with Mommy for the 3 months he has off LOL
