Is Competition Destructive ?

My friend Long invited me here in myLot and really I find it interesting because of discussions and not on earnings. I believe that individual plays an important role to describe whatever means myLot uses to pursue its desired objectives.Some find a source of recognition for their esteem needs-needs a way of being acknowledged for their skills and experiences.Others find that it helps satisfy their social needs by increasing their personal contacts and a feeling of importance.But yesterday as I thought deeper I realized that this encourages negative attitudes and leads to interpersonal and intergroup conflicts.I feel discouraged when someone I do not know posted comment and warned me not to copy her site if I intend to do it. And told me if not someday soon I will know the truth. I'm not here to compete specially in terms of earnings. My golden rule " God Doesn't expect you to be perfect but He does insist on complete HONESTY " I will not compromise my profession as a Professor to be a xerox machine,he he he . Let us transform myLot as a small village that will bridge our culture and develop friendship . Think of positive thoughts that lead to positive results.

Yea,you are right.Almost every one is enjoying their time here in mylot.
Some mylotters even share their family problems and ask for suggestions.
So,it has almost become a second home for many members here.
But,as you say,some become jealous because of others and rate them negative a large number of times.
I think we can't do anything to those few mylotters.
Only if they think of changing,they can change.No body can be forced to change.
But,almost all mylotters are good and friendly except a few.
So,just forget those few,who cause trouble and lets all make this mylot a safe and a very friendly place
.

I agree with you, if there are people who are rating us negative out of jealousy, its okay, let them do it, we should not be affected with these kind of people.
I still believe there are a lot of good people here at myLot, to whom we could exchange our ideas, opinion and learn from each others experiences.

This is very confusing, I understand and as per my observation, a certain topic gets repeatedly posted again and again with different titles. And I think theres no problem with that. Unless, you already have the privilege to copy and paste some discussions, wherein you can 100% copy something that is already posted by another member. But the question is, who would want to do that?

I think that competition can be helpful when it is all kept in check. The thing is, people get over competitive and that is where all the problems come in.
