Winnipeg approves cameras on street and on buses.

Winnipeg, Canada - Winnipeg city council has approved a "Surveillance Camera Pilot Project. They will be placing cameras up on the street in high crime areas along with placing digital cameras on buses. City council approved a 2.7 million dollar camera project in placing cameras in all of the city transit buses. This comes after many passengers along with drivers who have been assulted. I totally agree with them putting security cameras in our buses. I have never taken city transit but with all the assults that have been going on not only against the drivers but passengers as well is a great idea.

Hi Nichole-I thought that you would already of had that as in the Uk we already do-they reckon here that you are watched by camera's 300 times a day on average--they are everywhere-wouldn't be surprised if they want to start putting them in our homes next!!-your friend littleowl

All we have are red light and speed cameras on certain street lights. We don't have alot of cameras otherwise. They never did cameras on the buses either but with the uprising attacks they are changing that.

Hi Nichole-we have street cameras..shop cameras..speed cameras..bus and train cameras..cameras on train stations...they are everywhere-even in hospitals it truly is like Big Brother is watching you..London is the worst place...yet if you were to think about it you wouldn't goout day or night..cos they are in clubs pubs..I could go on but it is frightening when you think of it-your friend littleowl

well I think that is great but I wonder what about vandalism and people breaking the cameras on the street. I believe that there is a high possibility they will do that.

Like everything there is always the possibility. I know that they will place the cameras up high. But we all know that there are monkeys crawling around all the time and can climb the pole. It will be a true test to say the least.
