How does a man become a good husband?

I think a good husband does everything he can to be sure his family is taken care of emotionally, physically, financially, and mentally. He is supportive, compassionate, honest, caring, loving, etc.

Its allright when a husband makes the major decisions in the household but he should have listened to his wifes ideas before deciding and really think about what she said. Wives are not dumb.
A good husband tells his wife when things go wrong for him so she does not have to guess and feel alarmed because he only says there is nothing wrong treating his own wife like an idiot, when in fact there is. Doing so btw is a lie. And thats no good.
A good husband is interested in helping his wife when she admits she needs his help (I think of help around the house right now). He does not say then thats womens work and what are you doing all day long. Even the best wife has a bad day or is sick once in a while. And when he helps her willingly when she needs it,and admits it he can be sure that she will not pretend she needs help when she could well manage alone and has a good powerful day herself tackling her responsibilities allright.

A good husband is also a good father and knows and is interested in what his kids do and how they are in general. He cares about his kids and wants to hear about their day too.

may seem a bit much but I guess it would be worth it because then the marriage will be happy and successful.
