Florida Marlins in 2008  email this discussion to a friend?

Any other Florida Marlins fans out there?!

Here we are over three weeks into the 2008 baseball season and one of the biggest surprises to the baseball world (excluding us Marlins fans because we know what kind of talent we have) is the Florida Marlins.

Being predicted to have the worst record in baseball, the Florida Marlins are currently sitting atop the NL East division with a 13-8 record. The Marlins bats have been exploding thus far with over 30 home runs as a team through oonly 21 games, despite the off-season loss of slugger Miguel Cabrera, and the pitching, while spotty at times, has been holding up despite the absence of three of the Marlins top starters (Josh Johnson, Anibel Sanchez, Sergio Mitre). Will the offensive onslaught keep up? Will the rotation be able to hold up until we get some of these guys back from the DL?

Hanley Ramirez is putting up big numbers and following his 2006 Rookie of the Year campaign and his 10th place finishing in the NL MVP race is looking to take the top honors this year. Could it happen?

What are your predictions for the Florida Marlins, or even the NL East overall, in 2008?
