After boiling the color of veg are not looking fresh, to keep vegs fresh boil with pinch of sugar and lemon. Your veg will remain look fresh. Check out my salad recipes at my blog also:)

4. chirantani (1119) | 6 months ago | R u too surprised to hear boiled vegetables in salad?????? Its a very well known dish of salad in Germany, where they use boiled potatoes, eggs or read meat, onions, boiled carrot or radish, with cucumber, etc and also some fruits, cutted in a very fine manner. For making it more delicious they add cheese, sugar, salt, mayonaise and red wine. Jakesnake1978 (1155) | 6 months ago | I never tried German salads at all. Well, I think in Germany they make salads more different from the United States. I will have to look all that up online when I do get a chance. Yeah, German salads are a lot different.

| 7. nehenderson (74) | 6 months ago | I am or was a Diet Tech by profession before I retired. I have always used raw vegetables in salads. They ARE perfectly safe to eat IF you handle and WASH them properly before use. They should also be stored at the proper temperature as well!

8. Jakesnake1978 (1155) | 6 months ago | Yeah, I agree. I add raw veggies to my salads. I would definitely add root veggies to my salads, but before this, I would wash them first. For macaroni salads, I would add eggs. If you make macaroni salad, just add mayonaise, eggs, and macaroni altogether. Just on top it just add any spice you want, cover it, and refrigerate for couple hours.
